Mon île, creation of a citizen participation application
2024
Project scope
Project completed during my master's program for a real client

Project description
Mon île is a group project I completed during my first year of the master’s program. It represents the solution we provided to the SAMOA issue: How can we strengthen citizen participation among the residents of Île de Nantes when it only engages a part of the population?
Our first instinct to better understand the issue was to conduct a research phase in three parts: audit of the existing system, competitive benchmarking, and target interviews.
Identified barriers:
• Lack of information;
• Lack of time;
• Feeling of illegitimacy in participating in civic life.
Our solutions:
• Installation of an identifiable physical object in key locations of the city with a QR code to access the website;
• Improved content hierarchy on the website to encourage more reading;
• A mobile-first website with a fun feature: a quiz to share opinions on the implemented projects.
